Hometown Hero: Kenneth Richards
In 2007, Kenneth Richards of Lakewood had a difficult time accepting his diagnosis with Tourette Syndrome. also known as TS. With the help and support of his family he decided to take his diagnosis and turn it into something positive. He helped start the first ever youth TS support group in Washington State and became a youth ambassador for the Tourette Syndrome Association. He traveled to Washington DC for training and has become a motivational speaker for many local organizations. He’s even met with legislative members, educating them on the importance of receiving educational and medical support for the TS community.
Because of Kenneth’s outstanding contributions, KIRO Radio and your community credit union, WSECU are proud to honor Kenneth as a Hometown Hero and award him with $2,000 as a way to say thank you for all that you do.
