Hometown Hero: Kacey Kroeger
In 2001, Kacey Kroeger of Seattle encountered a traumatic brain injury that caused her to leave her job. She had to re-learn how to walk, talk, read, and write. Working hard to regain abilities many people take for granted, Kacey discovered the high, out-of-pocket costs associated with rehabilitation wasn’t covered by most insurance companies.
Kacey wanted to help others going through similar neurological struggles and started the Plus One Foundation, which provides funding for therapies that are proven to aid in strengthening the body and mind.
Because of Kacey’s courage and service to others, KIRO Radio and your community credit union, WSECU are proud to honor Kacey as a Hometown Hero and award her with $2,000 as a way to say thank you for all that you do.
