Food and sex have always had an explosive connection. Foods like oysters and chocolate are said to be aphrodisiacs. But what about food and phone sex?

A Portland phone sex operator has found a very tasty niche, and she’s not your stereotypical busty blond or a mother of five working the phones while her kids are off at school. She’s a conservatory trained actress and foodie.

“I appeal to a gentleman who wants to talk about theater and incredible food and then perhaps have a detailed role play about something quite bizarre or out there.”

Tonya Miller has been a phone sex operator for seven and a half years, but when she fell in love with food a few years ago, it weaved its way into her work.

“It’s just so freakin’ erotic. If you have a really, really amazing meal you can get food drunk.”

She said it started when one of her regular clients read her writing on a food blog.

“He said ‘I was getting turned on. It would be sexy to hear you reading that menu. It would just turn me on so much. I could imagine sitting across the table from you while you were describing these dishes and feeling your toe inching up my calf.'”

She says she prefers talking about the foods that turn her on, so the call is as genuine as possible. What foods make her excited?

“There’s a wonderful restaurant in Portland called called Tabla, and they serve one of the simplest dishes I’ve ever had in a restaurant. There’s a truffle butter with a pasta like a thin linguine and they just toss it with some truffle butter and a little bit of shaved grana padana cheese. I have dreams about this pasta dish.”

My favorite part about Tonya’s work is that not all of the guys who call want the food and the phone sex.

“This one guy called and he’s like ‘I know this is probably weird, but do you really know how to cook?’ And I said, ‘Yes, I really know how to cook!’ And he’s like ‘Well, I really want to make my girlfriend a special dinner for Valentine’s Day but I’m a really terrible cook.’ And I said ‘OK, I’ll walk you through it.’

He paid $3 a minute, for 2 hours, of cooking classes with a phone sex operator!

Tonya’s business is pretty different than the phone sex operator ads you see in the back of a The Stranger. She posts real photos of herself, is up front with her clients about her polyamorous life style and she doesn’t put on the fake breathy phone sex operator voice.

“I generally just talk like I normally talk. If a guy really really wants me to get into it, he might say something like ‘What does it taste like?’ And I might say something like ‘It’s not just how it tastes, it’s how it feels, sliding into my mouth. It’s how it rolls around on my tongue and the texture when I bite into it just a little bit. There’s all this flavor exploding in the back of my mouth,” she laughs. “Something like that!”

Kinda puts a new spin on a Happy Meal.
