I am completely obsessed with Super Delegates right now.

The possibility that Sen. Clinton or Obama could proceed to the White House because of the decision by nearly 800 Super Delegates is both strategically intriguing and downright scary.

I’m trying to reserve judgement but this whole Super Delegate thing could end up handing out the nomination based on a bunch of party elites! And let’s just roll with the projection that Sen. Clinton, who currently leads among Super Delegates, maintains that lead.

It would give the Republicans a chance to argue that the party is run by elites, that ordinary Democrats are ignored by the party big shots and I personally think it could end up giving the GOP a big wedge issue to persuade some independents that had leaned toward Sen. Obama to snub Hillary and vote for likely GOP nom, Sen. McCain.

As political theories go, its sorta Pelican Brief-ish.

(whoa! White woman, black man. Clinton, Obama. This is getting way too eerie for me.)

But the whole soap opera has me rivited to news about Super Delegates.
