You can’t spell “public library” without “PC”

A listener brought this to my attention this afternoon: Check out the Seattle Public Library website calendar. It indicates the library will be closed a week from Sunday. Will it be closed because Christians will be celebrating the resurrection of their Lord?
Of course not! It’s the Public Library. Here’s the reason they’ll be closed:
Library Closed due to historic low usage (Easter)
12 – 6pm
Summary: All locations of The Seattle Public Library will be closed Sunday, March 23 (Easter), due to historic low usage.
Make sure you understand – the library will be closed because of “historic low usage”. At least they slipped (Easter) in parenthetically. But only to explain the reason for the “historic low usage”.
Wouldn’t it have been easier to simply say: Closed – Easter Sunday
But, of course, political correctness in Seattle would never allow that!
