With Thanksgiving just a week away, there’s plenty of gravy and a few turkeys topping the weekend concert calendar.

Chart-toppers in the 80’s with their hip length hair and harmonies – the Nelson Brothers are back, dipping into their catalogue and their dad’s legendary rocker Ricky Nelson. They’ll be at the King Cat Theater Thursday night.

Friday’s best bets include the triumphant return of Seattle native singer songwriter Brandi Carlile, who’s sweet sounds are the perfect fit for Benaroya Hall.

Forget all those wannabe bluesmen, Taj Majal is the real deal. After 50 years he’s better than ever with his unique mix of American and world music. Majal kicks off a ten day residency of sorts at Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley on Sunday.

For the indie crowd, Boise’s Built To Spill has been among the most beloved for more than a decade influencing such bands as Death Cab For Cutie and Modest Mouse. You can find out why Friday and Saturday at the Showbox Market.

Nothing says Saturday night like a bunch of Irishmen singing drinking songs. Fans of the Celtic Tenors know their beautiful voices do way more than that. They’ll show why they’re one of the world’s most popular vocal groups Saturday night at Benaroya Hall.

If you prefer Americana, married couple Over the Rhine makes a beautiful mix of smoky country rock, just the thing for a weekend run at the Triple Door Friday through Sunday night.
