SIFF kicks off tonight with a great Opening Night movie, IN THE LOOP. A masterpiece of invective, this is a smart-as-a-whip political satire about the behind-the-scene machinations of foreign policy bureaucrats. It peters out a bit in the end, and visually it’s pretty basic, but I haven’t enjoyed such rhetorical nastiness since Blackadder last lambasted Baldrick. (Why are the Brits so good at this?) Very very funny.

Hours before they showed up on the Paramount Theatre stage for the SIFF Gala Opening, three of the cast members came by the station. You can watch that interview below. (It was almost as fun as the movie.)
