Semi-truck driver arrested after crash at Bothell interchange

The Washington State Patrol have arrested a semi-truck driver on suspicion of driving under the influence when he lost control as he exited from westbound 522 to southbound I-405 during Wednesday morning’s commute.

Trooper Julie Startup says the driver rolled the truck after hitting the guardrails and smashed into several light poles.

“We had some debris that fell down into the southbound lanes of I-405 and a couple of the light poles were actually hanging just by their cords above I-405,” she says.

Startup reports cars on the freeway below were hit by falling debris, and three separate crashes were caused by the incident. Minor injuries were reported.

Ramps and freeway lanes in the area were closed Wednesday morning for cleanup.
