The iconic Art-Deco building that dominates Seattle’s Beacon Hill could become King County’s juvenile jail and courthouse.

The PacMed Building started out as a hospital. It’s been Amazon’s home for years but the company pulled out in May.

The Seattle Times reports the development company which manages the property is pitching it as the new home for the juvenile jail.

The jail and courthouse near Seattle University just isn’t big enough to handle the current demands, and renovating it could cost $250 million.

The King County Council has received five other proposals for the future of the jail and courtrooms.
