Local music fans can get pretty lively, but at one special show this weekend, at least some of the crowd is guaranteed to be dead.

Brenda Spicer was looking for a big lawn, natural amphitheater of trees, and a peaceful surrounding to host a fundraising concert.

Spicer had to look no further than her workplace: Seattle’s Evergreen Washelli cemetery.

“My personal opinion is we’re here for the living as well as the deceased, and life is to be celebrated,” she said.

Spicer said the concert and wine tasting will be held in the same area as the annual Memorial Day commemoration, so there won’t be any dancing on
the headstones.

Saturday evening’s event features jazz artist Deems Tsutakawa and The New Seattle Groove. The wine garden opens at 5:00 p.m. The show starts at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 or $20 for show and wine. Proceeds will go to the Snowman Foundation.
