US stocks edge mostly lower in early trading

NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stocks are mostly lower in early trading as investors look over the latest batch of earnings reports.

Asset manager BlackRock slipped 1 percent Thursday after reporting earnings and revenue that came in below analysts’ estimates.

Delta Air Lines gained 3 percent after its results came in ahead of expectations.

The Dow Jones industrial average was little changed at 17,905 as of 9:35 a.m. Eastern time.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index slipped a point to 2,080. The Nasdaq composite edged down eight points, or 0.2 percent, 4,939.

Bond prices fell. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note rose to 1.78 percent.
