BMW introduces car-sharing program in Seattle
BMW has introduced a new car-sharing program in Seattle, called ReachNow.
It was made official on Friday.
ReachNow in Seattle is the first BMW car-share program in the country.
The first fleet will be made up of 370 cars; 20 percent of them are BMW i3s, which are electric vehicles.
KIRO 7 reporter Nick McGurk asked BMW if it’s attempting to compete with existing car-sharing programs like Car2Go or if the company is going for a luxury experience.
The company said with plans to deliver the car to customers, its business model is unique.
The city of Seattle has a deal with BMW that allows it to park on city streets.
