SEATTLE (AP) — The Latest on the arrest of a man following the discovery of body parts inside a Seattle recycling bin: (all times local):

The family of the woman slain and dismembered over the weekend has released a statement saying their hearts are broken and can never be fully mended.

The family of 40-year-old Ingrid Lyne said Tuesday a light went out of their lives forever with the death of their beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend.

They expressed gratitude for community support and thanked Seattle and Renton police for working to find the truth about what happened.

They said police have shown compassion, even feeding Lyne’s daughters’ cats when needed at their home, which is now considered a crime scene.

Detectives who searched the home of a woman who was dismembered say they found a 15-inch pruning saw and a nearly empty box of plastic garbage bags that appeared identical to the ones used in her slaying.

Probable cause documents show the saw was found in 40-year-old Ingrid Lyne’s bathroom in her Renton home and that family members said it wasn’t normally there.

John Charlton is being held on $2 million bail in connection with Lyne’s death over the weekend.

Body parts believed to be hers were found in a recycling bin in Seattle.

A judge has ordered a man accused of killing and dismembering a Seattle nurse to remain in jail on $2 million bail pending criminal charges.

John Charlton was ordered held during a hearing Tuesday afternoon. Prosecutors say he is suspected of second-degree murder.

King County prosecutors say Charlton killed 40-year-old Ingrid Lyne in her Renton home and then drove her body to Seattle.

Court records show the parents of a man accused of dismembering a Seattle nurse once sought a restraining order against him, saying they feared for their safety because of their son’s drunken outbursts.

The records show that the parents of John Robert Charlton filed for the temporary protection order in 2006.

Ray and JoAnn Charlton said their son tried to provoke a fight with them when he was drunk and abusive.

The petition was later dismissed at the parents’ request

Seattle police say John Charlton was arrested after human remains found in a recycling bin over the weekend were identified as those of Ingrid Lyne, a 40-year-old nurse and mother of three.

Court records show a man taken into custody for investigation of homicide after body parts were found in a Seattle homeowner’s recycling bin has a lengthy criminal history.

John Robert Charlton was convicted of a 2009 felony theft in Montana, negligent driving in Washington state in 1998, and a second-degree felony for aggravated robbery in Utah in 2006.

Seattle police have said they believe the human remains are those of Ingrid Lyne, a 40-year-old mother of three who was reported missing on Saturday. She worked as a nurse in Seattle.

Friends say she had planned to go on a date to a Mariners baseball game Friday night with someone she met online.

Seattle police found Lyne’s SUV in downtown Seattle on Monday after taking the 37-year-old Charlton into custody.
