When I was in high school, my dream job was to be a Seattle conservative talk show host. Since I was brought on as the first employee of then-new station KTTH 13 years ago, I have lived that dream. Even better, I’ve worked every day with one of my heroes and now my close friend, Michael Medved, as well as my best friend from college, Jeremy Steiner. I got to make many more friends along the way.

Over the years on my show, we helped put a roof on a home for expectant moms with no place to go, we raised money for Heartbeat Serving Wounded Warriors so that local veterans would get needed care, and we ensured the Tacoma Rescue Mission would not be lacking in Thanksgiving turkeys.

I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing people as diverse as the original Batman, Adam West, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Chuck Coulson, Julie Andrews, Carly Fiorina, Dr. Ben Carson, Senator Joe Lieberman, and too many more to recount. On my very first day on my very first show on KTTH, Rush Limbaugh called in to wish me well. For a new talk show host, it doesn’t get any better than that.

The great thing about being a conservative is that we don’t believe opportunity is a zero-sum game. 2016 is going to be an exciting year and a year of change both for me and for this station I have loved. At the end of the month, I am leaving KTTH and pursuing ventures that can only be done in presidential years and to follow my own creative vision.

I leave the station I helped found in the hands of a great company and good people. I am incredibly grateful for the loyalty and kindness of my listeners. It is a wonderful thing to meet them and realize we are already friends thanks to the power of radio. I’m also exceptionally grateful for my show sponsors, who have invested in my show year after year. Bonneville has been a great company to work for, and I will miss the people who have become such a meaningful, daily part of my life.

But you have me for two more weeks.
