Small space? Try a small animal for company

Posted by Alyssa

Lots of folks living in the middle of the city have a problem when it comes to space – there just isn’t enough of it.

From studio apartments to one-bedroom condos, if you don’t have a yard, or a basement, or a large enough bathroom to house a litter box (which let’s face it, those things can get pretty gross,) then a dog or even a cat might not before you.

But when it comes to the company of critters – a small space shouldn’t rule them out entirely. Every third Saturday of the month the city of Seattle holds an event to encourage small pet adoption in the city, called “Cool City Pets.”

And guess what? The third Saturday of the month is this Saturday. When you head on over to the Seattle Animal Shelter, you can meet and befriend hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and mice.

You might even meet one you want to take home.
