Hometown Hero: Sally Carman
Sally Carman spends her days overseeing the Center for Therapeutic Intervention in Gig Harbor. CTI, as it’s called, provides a safe, welcoming and encouraging environment for children in need of functional therapy for a wide range of developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges.
Sally spends countless hours with caretakers, parents, adoptive parents, foster parents, and educators – cultivating care and equipping them for the important roles they take in caring for these amazing kids.
What most people don’t know is that Sally does all of this without earning a dime. Instead, she chooses to compensate her CTI staff well and provide them with the best possible training. Sally says guiding children to help and healing is compensation enough.
For that, KIRO Radio and your community credit union, WSECU are proud to honor Sally as a Hometown Hero and award her with $2,000 as a way to say thank you for all you do.
