Okay, it was predictable but I’m still jazzed about it. Its Oscar reality mirrors the improbability of the film itself. Imagine being Danny Boyle 18 months ago – he’s in Mumbai making a film for a measly 14 million dollars, that’s partly in Hindi and features an all Indian cast, when he finds out his studio Warner Independent is shutting down. SLUMDOG almost goes straight-to-video and now it’s on top of the film world. A remarkable story worthy of the most Bollywood of plots. JAI HO.
