A bicyclist critically injured in a hit-and-run collision in Seattle Thursday afternoon has died.

The driver of the SUV took off after slamming into the bicyclist on Dexter Ave. N. at N. Thomas Street.

The King County medical examiner’s office said the bicyclist has died.

Jeff Kappel, with the Seattle Police Department says the vehicle is described as a brown, American-made SUV with tinted windows and a chrome roof rack.

Correction: MyNorthwest.com originally reported that the bicyclist involved in the crash died of injuries Thursday afternoon, but the Medical Examiner did not confirm until Friday.
