This road project is going to add 45 minutes to area drives

Drivers who use State Route 410 between Enumclaw and Buckley should make plans now to navigate around a full closure of the White River Bridge. This is going to add about 45 minutes to your drive for about a week.

Construction crews will close the bridge at 10 p.m. Friday, April 15 and hopefully reopen the bridge by noon on Saturday, April 23. Luckily, no events are currently scheduled at the White River Amphitheatre during the White River Bridge closure.

During the closure, drivers must use a detour route like SR 164, SR 18, SR 167 or SR 410. And that will likely take about 45 minutes longer, depending on traffic.

“We know this is going to be difficult for a lot of people who are used to a quick trip between Buckley and Enumclaw, but it’s really important we fix the bridge before the summer travel season heats up,” said Project Engineer Mike Askarian.
Due to the nature of the repairs and narrow width of the structure, pedestrians and cyclists will not be allowed to cross the White River Bridge during the work.

Drivers can call the project hotline at 253-372-3933 for more information.
