Community Charity

Compass Housing Alliance

Compass Housing Alliance has been named Bonneville Seattle’s Charity of the Month for April, for providing housing, shelter, and support services to people experiencing homelessness and poverty in the Puget Sound region.

In 1920, Rev. Otto and Mrs. Alva Karlstrom, a couple from Sweden, founded the Lutheran Sailors and Loggers Mission in Pioneer Square. While the name has changed, the mission and values remain the same. Compass Housing Alliance is the leading provider and developer of essential services and affordable housing for low-income individuals and families in our area. They offer day services, emergency shelter, transitional housing, and affordable housing to those in need.

Partnerships with local congregations, governments, and service providers help Compass Housing Alliance offer creative programming that meets the needs of a changing community. There are a variety of ways for you to help too – donate, volunteer, become an advocate, or register your congregation.
