Take time to prep for driving in snow, ice

Before you get stuck in it without a coat, take time to prepare you and your car for winter driving. (WSDOT image)

It’s time to start talking about snow. People in Enumclaw and Puyallup are already thinking about ice and snow on the roads after waking up to an unexpected dusting on Sunday.

In an effort to be prepared, the Seattle Department of Transportation releases a Winter Weather brochure every year to remind us how to be safe on the road during snowy conditions on their regular routes.

One thing drivers often forget is to remember to dress for winter (including kids), even if you have a dependable car. It’s called an accident for a reason. You don’t want to be standing on the side of the road after getting into a wreck without a coat. Another driving tip, always keep your old cell phone in your glove box. Any cellphone activated or not, can still make emergency calls.
