DAWN – Domestic Abuse Women’s Network

The Domestic Abuse Women’s Network (DAWN) has been named Bonneville Seattle’s Charity of the Month for February, due to their leading and supporting efforts to end domestic violence in south King County.

Started by two volunteers who were seeking services for a friend who was experiencing domestic violence, DAWN has grown over the past 32 years to provide a continuum of community and shelter-based services to more than 360,000 survivors of domestic violence.

DAWN’s mission is to lead and support efforts in south King County communities to end domestic violence by providing critical services and education for survivors to make informed choices about their future and engaging communities to raise awareness and take action.

Long-term, DAWN works towards safe, just, and equitable communities for everyone. DAWN is the only comprehensive provider of domestic violence services, including children’s programs, a 24-hour Advocacy & Crisis Line and emergency confidential housing for domestic violence victims in south King County.

DAWN is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Their main goal is to help people create healthy, peaceful lives, no matter what their circumstances.
